Pan’s Labyrinth- a thought on myth

Pan’s Labyrinth follows the story of Ofelia, a girl who, after her mother gets pregnant, is forced to move in with a cruel captain. The captain is the leader of a group of soldiers who, in the midst of fascist Spain, strive to eliminate a rebel group who lives in the forest near where the captain lives. After experiencing her mother’s difficult pregnancy and step-father’s brutality, Ofelia discovers that she is the lost princess of the underworld and undergoes several magical tasks (with the help of a faun and fairies) in order to return to her mystical kingdom.
